PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - February 22

The following notices were published in the February 22 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- DEP posted a solicitation on the PA eMarketplace to procure six professional services related to plugging abandoned conventional oil and gas wells.  Proposals are due April 14, 2025. [Federal funds used to pay for these services are at risk]   Read more here.

-- The Environmental Integrity Project released a spreadsheet listing the 668 US Army Corps of Engineers "Energy Emergency Projects" reviews ordered by the President.  The list includes projects in Bradford, Clearfield, Dauphin, Lycoming, Philadelphia, Somerset, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Washington and York counties. -- Consol PA Coal Company, LLC - Conventional Gas Well: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soils contaminated benzene, secbutylbenzene, tert-butylbenzene, cyclohexane, ethylbenzene, isopropylbenzene (cumene), napthalene, toluene, trimethylbenzene, 1,2,4-, trimethylbenzene, 1,3,5-, total xylenes, acenaphthene, anthracene, benzo(a)anthracene, benzo(a)pyrene, benzo(g,h,i)perylene, biphenyl, chrysene, fluoranthene, fluorene, indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene, 2-methyl-naphthalene, phenanthrene, total phenolics, and pyrene to meet Statewide Health Standards at the well located in Morris Twp., Greene County. So far in 2025, DEP received or acted on 20 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups.
